Biography

Kaitlyn Christensen Sacco, originally from a suburb of Philadelphia, PA, received her MFA in dance performance and choreography from Florida State University in 2014 and her BA in Dance from Slippery Rock University in 2010. While at SRU, she had the opportunity to work with guest artists such as Doug Varone and Dancers, River North Chicago Dance Company, Teena Custer, Ursula Payne and Helanius Wilkins. Her work, “Manipulating Consistency,” was chosen to perform at ACDFA at Ohio University in 2010 and she was given the “Outstanding Choreographer Award” for the Class of 2010 at SRU. After graduating from SRU, she taught at various dance studios and was a company member with MacArthur Dance Project and an intern with Koresh Dance Company in Philadelphia. At FSU, she taught Jazz, Tap and Contemporary Dance in the General Studies Dance Program and performed in numerous concerts, some works by Alex Ketley, Rodger Bellman and Gerri Houlihan. She was the rehearsal assistant for works by Rick McCullough and Gerri Houlihan and the FSU Dance in Paris International Program Assistant. She was the head videographer for multiple FSU dance performances and event photographer for the Annual Paint Around Gala at FSU in 2013. Her photography was published in the Photographer’s Forum Magazine 2014 and a finalist for the 34th Annual College & High School Photography Contest. She is also the featured photographer for the 2014-2015 FSU School of Dance calendar. After graduating from FSU, she moved to NYC and was the boutique manager and video marketing assistant for Gaynor Minden Pointe Shoes and a company member with Megan Lynn Asterial Dance. Her work, “Hush” & "Glimpse" were selected to perform in the 14th annual White Wave DUMBO Dance Festival in NYC in September of 2014. She also performed at the Comedy in Dance Festival in Brooklyn NY, was an apprentice with Ariel Rivka Dance and performed with iKada Contemporary Dance Company in their KoDaFe in NYC International Dance Festival. After NYC, she moved to Florida and was the Associate Artistic Director of South Georgia Ballet as well as their rehearsal coach, marketing assistant and teacher from 2015-2018. She was the Wellness Studio Director, Floor Barre Teacher and Cross-Training Teacher at Florida State University in the School of Dance in the Fall of 2018. She is also a Zena Rommett Floor Barre Certified Teacher.

She was a member of the Ircamar Garcia Rodriguez Dance Company from 2015-2020 and performed at FAMUs African Caribbean Show, at the Annex 621 Gallery, at the Monticello Opera House and at the Contemporary Dance Choreography Festival in Orlando. She currently lives in Tallahassee FL with her Husband and son and is the Communications Director, Marketing Assistant and a Choreographer at South Georgia Ballet and a dance performance member with Camerata South.
